The Labrador Retriever Club of Greater Denver is
made up of people drawn together by a shared love for our chosen breed,
the Labrador Retriever. The Club offers training and education for
its members to help them deepen their knowledge, and also sponsors events
in the show, field, and obedience arenas to showcase the breed.
Affiliated with the American Kennel Club, LRCGD is responsible each year
for mounting a regional specialty show and obedience trial, a hunt test,
B-OB match, working certificate, field training classes, and educational
events for the community. It is our aim to encourage and promote
quality in the breeding of pure-bred Labradors and to do everything possible
to demonstrate the versatility, trainability, and beauty of the breed.
Not all members of LRCGD are breeders; those that are, however, adhere
to a club-sponsored breeder's code of ethics regarding standards of care,
health clearances, and registration of the Labrador Retriever. These
breeders dedicate much thought, time, effort, and expense to produce litters
on a limited basis to improve the breed. They are not in the business
of mass producing puppies merely to meet the demands of the marketplace. If you would like a referral to one of our reputable breeders about the addition of a Labrador Retriever puppy to your home, please feel free to use our Puppy Referral Service.
Aside from the serious side of Labrador ownership, the Labrador Retriever
Club of Greater Denver also exists to further the enjoyment of its members!
Labrador owners tend to be something like their dogs-- fun and big-hearted.
LRCGD sponsors social events each year for its members, and many lifelong
friendships spring up in its ranks.
